How to DIY Waterproof Tape Your Seams
Here's an easy DIY product I found to waterproof tape the seams on your tent or other fabric. You can also use this tape for repairing minor holes in your fabric.

Amazing Poncho + Shelter for Bushcraft Survival

The Polish Lavvu (tepee) is a very popular poncho shelter configuration in the UK and Europe. It's a canvas material, so it's highly breathable and you do not get much condensation which is a big problem with synthetic ponchos and tents. Pair this up with the 303 waterproofing, and this is an excellent option. You can use it as a poncho, shelter, ground cover, gear cover, collecting water, etc....

This isn't an "exciting" video, but it's absolutely necessary for your preparedness plan. I also forgot to mention. Have a list of what you need to do for a bug out situation. As I use some of my gear in every day life, it's not all tucked away in one place. I have it in several locations in my house. My bug out checklist tells me what all I need to get before leaving.

Is This "Really" the 666 Hand Sign?
Переглядів 1,8 тис.7 років тому
Many attribute this hand sign to the 666 illuminati. Others attribute it to being Alternative-right / conservative. Others say it stands for White Power and oppressiveness. While even still others find it as a meditation tool. But do you REALLY know what the origin is? It dates all the way back to Nimrod.

    The issue I see here is that the tent is not being stressed like it would when it is pegged out with tight guy lines, so potentially those seals are going to be stressed and stretched once the tent is pegged out. I wonder if you could apply the tape when teh tend is erected and pegged out and use a hair dryer ? Also applying this on the inside does not seem like it will stand up to much water or moisture otherwise it would be applied on the outside.

    Thanks so much for this, I have an old backpacking tent from 1998. The seam tape is peeling away. I love this tent and don't want to retire it. Thanks to your video, I think I can give it new life. Thank you so much my friend. Best wishes.

    1) Don’t treat canvas. It’s pointless. Canvas can do more than you think. 2) Your tent is set up inside out.

    Everything on Gods earth was created by God and God alone! The occult Satan worshipers, try to take that away. Like the symbol of the owl or the crow, or the goat and even the rainbow 🌈 If people go along with it, you are to blame as well. It's all God's, he made it for us and everything has a purpose. People need to stop saying, it's the devils. No its not. Why do you think, scientists have been paid to modify everything? So that corn and many things under the sun and now even humans DNA is being changed from Gods coded DNA. To become Satans. Because he's so jealous of God. Stop giving power to the powerless Satan! Plus all Modified fruit looks good and tast like crap and causes destruction to God's creation. It's not part of the system God made. That's why so much destruction.

    Firebox Stoves has a good idea of having 'pet' goats. He takes 2-3 out hiking with him and his dog and they all carry gear. You could easily rig a harness for a couple goats or sheep to haul a cart trailer. 123Homefree lives that way right now. He has a few sheep and just got a Donkey. He lives in a wagon camper that the animals haul and he eats mostly sheep milk products and makes a lot of his clothes from felting their wool.

    I've also been inspired by some diy mobile micro chicken trailers some people have built to hook up to their bikes and travel to other people's property to graze the chickens to provide fertilizer and soil aeration. I've thought if you had a little group, someone could haul the chickens, and some other people could haul a micro greens / aquaponics trailer, another could haul a trailer for the water and camp shower equipment, another for the solar generators and pannels...

    I would like to modify the folding cot tent trailer ive seen into a trailer, that adds a couple more uses. Or just rig a folding cot to a basic bike trailer and one of those ultralight bikepacking tents. My favorite things about these is you can use them to haul an injured person too. I suggest getting a weight belt to modify into a harnes so you can walk hands free and have more support not pulling on your pack.

    One easy modification is to add paracord looks to each of the grommets to give you extra space to use larger pegs. It also allows you to have a small gap around the edge for light and airflow if you want

    Any tips for working around the corners & edges? Straight runs are easy but using an iron on the transitions from the floor to the walls at the bathtub corners is a trick I haven't figured out. Heat gun?

    • @elirobillard3451
      @elirobillard3451 Рік тому

      In the end I used silicon in the corners. Tenacious makes two that are easy to work with. There's just no way to do in a corner with an iron what the factory does flat before final stitch up.

    What about using this tape on a tent floor that is made of nylon with a pu coating on the downside, and taped sewings on the inner upper side, that have loosened? Cheers.

    • @monzarace
      @monzarace 2 роки тому

      okay, so I'll answer it myself. Don't use too much heat and don't do it for long time, such as on canvas, which is more durable and heat resistant, than nylon. So, medium heat on the iron, and roll a piece of cloth to lay underneath and place the piece of fabric on top of that, and then add a piece of tape (or the old tape being reglued by heat), and then a piece of cloth over that, and then the iron on top. Move the iron slowly and possibly tip it a little bit front and back, to reach the edged better with heat. Remove iron, remove upper cloth and inspect for propper adhesion. If not enough let it cool off and then re-iron. Inspect again. Do NOT re-iron on an already heated up piece, as it can become too hot and melt the whole iron on the tent. So, let it cool down and repeat. Longer pieces of tape and be used, or better still, let the roll be one long strip (or cut a complete strip and work on that), as it will avoid a lot of assemblies of tape pieces for future waterproofness. Finally: Do NOT use any silicone product such as for example Fabsil, neither liquid or spray or anything else, on a nylon piece that has been PU treated and taped, as it WILL loosen the tape. If that is the case, remove old tape, clean properly and retape. This is usually the case of tent floors and lower sides. It is also worth mentioning, that the tape used here, is NOT as ready to glue, as the original tape. But it works, just needs a bit more heating time. But be careful! Cheers.

    Done a half of mine today, i removed all old loose tape first then ironed with the paper any bits that where left then put on the new tape ,(bits that where left on just melt in with new tape ) as Mike said pressure is needed for best results I used masking tape at each end to hold it in place as I got to ends just peeled it off and continued . Thank Mike . Just watch you don’t have plastic toggles under the bit your ironing.

    I think it was 20 years ago that I acquired a game carrier. I took it to a blacksmith along with a adapter piece that I bought at a cycle shop. I asked the blacksmith to put the two items together so that I could attach the game carrier to ANY bicycle. He did this. I have attempted to keep the combined unit outside and under wrap. Of course, there has been some rust that does not affect performance. In 2020, I bought sturdy wire fencing material to replace the failing material used on a game trail carrier. Putting a mass on the original material and hauling things once or twice a year is not the same as having the unit behind a bike and tossing things and pulling things out when shtf. Hence, the sturdy fencing that can cut to form with the game carrier. All you have to do is to rip the original material and you will be in a world of hurt.
